The grads ventured to Ottawa for a winter-y day trip that began with lunch at Dow’s Lake followed by either skating on the canal or visiting the National Gallery of Canada. The group reconvened at Byward Market for the Winterlude Festival, where they drank tea, ate at King Eddy’s, and ooh-ed and ahh-ed at ice sculptures from around the world. Apples, Pumpkins, & Cider

The EPS grads embarked on the annual autumnal Saturday of apples, pumpkins, and hills covered in colorful leaves. They stopped at Potager Mont-Rouge Halte Gourmande for apple picking and pumpkin perusing, then headed to either Cidrerie Michel Jodoin for a guided cider tour or off on a small hike nearby. New Grads Trip to Oka

New grads ventured out to Parc national d’Oka this year to hike around Calvaire d’Oka, check out Oka village, and stop for cheese at Magasin de l’abbaye d’Oka. Thanks to Debarati Das, Anna Hayden, and Sarah Bodeving for coordinating the trip!


Grad Trip to Saguenay Fjord

Grad students went for a weekend camping trip to Parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenay and hiked up to the Statue de Notre-Dame-du-Saguenay for beautiful views of the fjord (alas, no whales were spotted). Apple Picking in the Monteregian Hills

To celebrate the arrival of fall, graduate students visited Rougemont to learn about the history of the Monteregian Hills and partake in cultural activities at Potager Mont-Rouge Halte Gourmande and Ciderie Michel Jodoin. Grad Trip to Hautes-Gorges


In August, grad students took a road trip up to Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie for a weekend camping trip and hiked up the Acropole-des-Draveurs trail. Thanks to Lauren Somers for organizing the trip, and thanks to Lauren and Alexis Beaupré for the photos!
